Carroll Menzo Jones, 83, passed from this life on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel.
Carroll was born on January 7, 1929, in Jewell, Iowa to Floyd and Edith (McDonald) Jones. He was a decorated US Army veteran of the 8th army engineer school, serving in Japan. He was a graduate of Drake University, a CPA and owner of Carroll M. Jones Co in the Des Moines area. Carroll married Darlene Adams on August 7, 1950 in Webster City, Iowa.
Carroll will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Darlene Jones of Grimes, IA; two daughters, Linda (Wayne) Johnson of Dublin, CA, Kimberley Jones of Des Moines, IA; and two sons, Dennis (Linda) Jones of Grimes, IA, Michael (Laura) Jones of Scottsdale, AZ; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mary Lou Fisher of Webster City, Martha Mae McIntyre of Webster City, and Leota Eittrein of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Edith Jones, brother, Keith Jones, son Carroll M. Jones Jr., and granddaughter Faith Ann Jones.
