Marion Amiel Johnson was born Feb. 11, 1920 to Amiel Fredolf and Clara Estelle Crummer Johnson. He died Mar. 26, 1987 and is buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Randall, IA.
Marion served with the U.S. Army in World War II in New Guinea, the Philippine Islands, and Japan, and was awarded the Bronze Star medal for valor.

Marion Amiel Johnson, son of Amiel and Clara (Crummer) Johnson, was born on a farm in Pocahontas County on February 11, 1920.
Marion was united in marriage to Irene Berg on September 26, 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in New Guinea, the Philippine Islands, and Japan, and was awarded the Bronze Star medal for valor.
In 1960 Marion, Irene and family moved from Rockwell City to Randall where Marion was employed by the Farmers Co-op Elevator until his retirement in July of 1982.
On March 26, Marion died of a stroke at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, at the age of 67 years.
He is survived by his wife, Irene, two daughters, Karen Bennink of Omaha, Nebr., and Karel Johnson of West Des Moines, a son-in-law, Rod Bennink, and two granddaughters, Kym and Cindy Bennink of Omaha, Nebr., two sisters, Joyce Anderson of Alta, and Ardis Johnson of Manson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Loy, and an infant brother Clare.
At the time of his death, Marion was an active charter member of the Randall Lions Club and a member of Elim Lutheran Church. Some of his past contributions to the community include church choir, church council and president of the congregation, the American Legion, volunteer fire department, city council member, and mayor of Randall for 14 years.
Funeral services for Marion Johnson were held on Monday, March 30 at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Larry Tantow officiating. Music was by Janet Tantow, organist, Ellis Anderson, soloist, who sand “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden”. The congregation also sang “Children of the Heavenly Father”.
Casket bearers were Charles Egemo, Harold Thompson, John Halleland, Delbert Quam, Bernie Leeman, and Curtis Grimsley.
Honorary casket bearers were Richard Teigland, Arlen Hougland, Frederick Larson, Merne Hove, Al Holt, Milo Olson, and Art Okland.
Burial was at Mount Olive Cemetery. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
