Carl Reuben Johnson, 70, 1604 First St., died April 18, 1984, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. He was born Feb. 25, 1914, in Boone County the son of Gust and Hilma Olander Johnson. He married Lois Hageleen Jan. 26, 1946, in Boone.
Johnson was a Veteran of World War II, and a member of Evangelical Free Church and the American Legion. He farmed in the Stratford area until 1968, and was then employed at Iowa State University.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Lois of Boone; two daughters, Sherry Carlson of Boone and Marleen Wiersum of St. Paul, Minn.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Delmar and Vernon, both of Boone and George of California; two sisters, Ellen Rosengreen, California and Ruth Carpenter, Boone.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Donald Stover officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until noon Friday.
Memorials may be given to the Evangelical Free Church, Bethel College and Seminary or the American Diabetes Association.
