FIRST RELEASE OF STATE HISTORICAL DEATH SUMMARIES
Eighty men from Kossuth county lost their lives while in the service of their country in World War II.

Donald Willis John was born in 1925 to R. Sidney and Fern Marie Olson John. He died in 1944 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Bancroft, IA.
Pvt. John served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 2nd Division and was KIA in Saipan.
