Richard Everett Janson was born Sept. 22, 1922 to John Edvin and Berthilda M. Jegtevig Janson. He died Oct. 8, 2012 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Cpl. Janson served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He entered the military with the Air Corps Technical Training Command as a B-17 Crew Chief and Flight Engineer.
