Lewis William Jackson was born Aug. 4, 1917 to Clint Kenneth and Anina Dorothea Christine Danker Jackson. He died Dec. 27, 1944 and was buried in the American cemetery at San Jose, Mindoro, Philippines. He was later moved to the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines. He has a cenotaph at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown, IA.
Pvt. Jackson served with the U.S. Army 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division and died in service of his county at San Jose, Mindoro Island, Philippines. He died when he accidentally fell on his rifle which went off.
