Sioux Cityan, Men from This Area, Win Bronze Star
Washington—The war department Tuesday announced award of the bronze star medal to five Iowans. They are:
Maj. Russell E. Mann, infantry, Iowa City; Sgt. Charles W. Hartigan, infantry, Cherokee; Pfc. Clifford Hanson, infantry, Holstein; Pfc. George E. Hinrickson, Mapleton and Pvt. Harry W. Heeren, infantry, Sioux City.

George Eddie Hinrickson was born Mar. 7, 1923 to John R. and Augusta Dadt Hinrickson. He died May 5, 2006 and is buried in Center Cemetery, Castana, IA.
Pvt. Hinrickson served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star.
