Donald Lyle “Red” Heggen was born Jan. 8, 1923 to Theodore B. and Fannie Epperson Heggen. He died Nov. 22, 2006 and is buried in Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Sgt. Heggen served in World War II with the U.S. Army Military Police in England, France, Belgium and Germany.
