80 Kossuth Men Officially Listed As Casualties In War
FIRST RELEASE OF STATE HISTORICAL DEATH SUMMARIES
Eighty men from Kossuth county lost their lives while in the service of their country in World War II.

Died in France 7-31-44.

Harold R. Hammerstrom was born June 9, 1920 to Carl G. and Selma A. Pearson Hammerstrom. He died July 31, 1944 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Bancroft, IA.
Pvt. Hammerstrom served in World War II with the U.S. Army 12th Infantry, 4th Division and was MIA/KIA in France.
