Charles Hammen was born Nov. 5, 1922 to Charles E. and Mamie Peiffer Hammen. He died Jan. 6, 1945 and is buried in Saint Elizabeths Cemetery, Harper, IA.
Sgt. Hammen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 3rd Army, 80th Division, 319th Infantry and died of wounds received in action in Luxembourg.
