George Clark Horton was born Dec. 8, 1921 to John Samuel and Iva Verona Brooks Horton. He died July 30, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-Sur-Mer, Normandy, France.
Sgt. Horton served in World War II with the U.S. Army 78th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Armored Division and was KIA in France. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
