RECEIVES UNIT BADGE
Charles C. Hoover, Machinist 1-c, of Duncombe, has been presented the army distinguished unit badge “for service aboard an American submarine in defense of the Philippines between December 7, 1941 and April 9, 1942.”
Now serving with the Atlantic fleet, he also wears the American theater, the American defense and the Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbons with three combat stars, and the submarine combat insignia with three combat stars. He enlisted in October, 1940.
