DIES OF BATTLE WOUNDS
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hofmeyer received word of the death of their nephew, Pvt. Willis Hofmeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hofmeyer of Sanborn. He was wounded in action in Germany November 17 and was taken to a hospital in Belgium where he succumbed the following day, November 18, 1944.
Pvt. Hofmeyer was a young man of 20 and served with the Army Infantry. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 15 at 1:30 P.M. in the Christian Reformed Church at Sanborn with the Reverend J. Straks, pastor of the Reformed Church officiating.
Pvt. Hofmeyer leaves his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters and a large number of relatives.
