Sheldon, Iowa – Private William Hoekstra, stationed at Kimball, S.D. at the bombing and gunnery range of the army air corps, returned this week after spending a 15-day furlough in the home of his mother, Mrs. R.J. Hoekstra.

Wietse “William" Hoekstra was born July 23, 1912 to Reinder J. and Wietse Zuiderveld Hoekstra. He died Oct. 2, 1973 and is buried in East Lawn Cemetery, Sheldon, IA.
