Merle Marion Hilpipre was born Nov. 19, 1925 to Charles A. and Elma Edwards Hilpipre. He died Apr. 13, 2002 and is buried in Holmes Lutheran Cemetery, Holmes, IA.
Pvt. Hilpipre served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a rifleman with Co. C, 16th Infantry in Europe.
