ORLIN HANSON OF RANDALL AWARDED SERVICE CITATION
Randall—Orlin E. Hanson, ARM 1-c, of Randall has received a citation from Adm. W. F. Halsey for service in the south Pacific following action in the Gilbert islands. He served in the area as a radioman gunner on a dive bomber and has participated in 19 raids.
Now spending a 30 day leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Hanson, north of Randall, Hanson has been transferred to the naval air station at Seattle where he expects to remain for several months.
He was two other brothers in service, Leroy at Camp Barkeley, Texas, and Irvin, in the coast artillery at Camp Roberts, Cal.

Lars A. and Olena ‘Lena' Charlson Hanson had three sons serving in World War II: Orlin Eugene, Irvin E., and Leroy Augustine.
Orlin Eugene ‘Hans’ Hanson was born Jan. 2, 1920. He died June 4, 2001 and is buried in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse, WI.
Petty Officer Hanson served with the U.S. Navy Air Corps in World War II. He was an aviation radioman.
