George William Hansen was born Jan. 13, 1923 to John Chris and Blanche E. Hansen. He died Aug. 30, 1944 and is buried in Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Normandy, France.
Sgt. Hansen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division and was KIA in Brest, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf cluster.
