George Francis Hall, Jr. was born July 20, 1914 to George F. (Sr.) and Mary B. Gallagher Hall. He died Jan. 3, 1943 and is buried in Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
Sgt. Hall served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 358th Bomber Squadron, 303rd Bomber Group, Heavy and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal. Sgt. Hall was a crew member of a B-17, (Flying Fortress), bomber which participated in a bombardment mission to St. Nazaire, France and during this mission the Fortress sustained damage from hostile aircraft and fell into the Bay of Biscay.
