Raymond Eugene Grotewold was born July 6, 1917 to Frank and Grace McEnaney Grotewold. He died July 2, 1944 and is buried in Larchwood Cemetery, Larchwood, IA.
Pvt. Grotewold served in World War II with the U.S. Army, attached to a tank outfit which was in the heaviest fighting on the Anzio beachhead. He was wounded there and later returned to his unit for two weeks when he was reported MIA; later KIA.
