Mary Lou Gould in Navy Nurses Corps; Commissioned Ensign
Mary Lou Gould, daughter of Mrs. Lauretta Gould, 610 Laurel street, Davenport, and the late Carl A. Gould, has joined the navy nurse corps with the commission of ensign. She left Friday for Farragut, Idaho, where she will receive her boot training.
Ensign Gould was graduated from St. Luke's nursing school, where she was employed in the hospital until her enlistment in March of this year.
She has two brother, Master Sgt. Ernest L. Gould, who is stationed at Camp Adair, Oregon and Pfc. Edwin R. Gould, of the army infantry division, who has been a prisoner in Germany for the last 18 months.

Edwin Richard Gould was born Aug. 22, 1913 to Carlos Augustin and Lauretta S. Klebe Gould. He died Oct. 21, 2006 and is buried in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA. Edwin served in World War II with the U.S. Army Antitank Company, 168th Infantry.
