Obituary:
William Gordon, 67, Webster City
William D. Gordon, 67, Webster City, died Aug. 3, 1995, at the Hamilton County Public Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 191. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home after 3 p.m. on Sunday until 9:30 a.m. Monday, when the casket will be taken to the church.
William Donald Gordon, son of James and Madge Brock Gordon, was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Webster City. He attended Webster City schools. He served in the U.S. Army in a medical company for two years. On Jan. 24, 1946, he married Lois Briggs in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. He had been a truck driver for Morton Frozen Foods, Liebmans of Iowa Falls, Rogers Truck Line and Consolidated Freight. He retired in 1982 and was a part-time custodian at Sunset Heights.
He is survived by his wife Lois; daughters and sons-in-law Pam and Brad Hayes, Webster City, Angela and Robert Heaford, Mason City; daughter-in-law Diane Claude, Webster City, grandsons Tom Gordon, Fort Dodge, Ryan Gordon, Cedar Falls, Matt Gordon and Benjamin Hayes, both of Webster City, sister Martha Mae Edwards, Madrid; brother James Gordon, Waterloo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Kenneth W. Gordon in 1989; his parents; brothers George Gordon, Alberto Gordon; sister Ella Knutson.
He was a member of the Webster City Moose Lodge and the American Legion No. 191.
