Robert Dickerson Gilson was born Sept. 21, 1903 to John E. and Anna Grace Dickerson Gilson. He died June 28, 1942 and was initially buried in Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast, Northern Ireland and re-interred in Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, IA.
Sgt. Gilson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry, 34th Division and died while in the service of his country.
