Ex-Sioux City Man Is Killed
Sgt. Burrel Gilmore Was With Infantry In Germany
S. Sgt. Burrel Gilmore, a former Sioux Cityan serving with the infantry, was killed in action in Germany October 8, his mother, Mrs. Belle Gilmore of Council Bluffs, was notified.
In the Army three years, the sergeant had been overseas since February 29, 1943. His wife and daughter reside in Lufkin, Texas.
Another son, Chief Yeoman Charley Gilmore on leave in Council Bluffs when the news of the death reached Mrs. Gilmore, has reported to Pensacola, Florida, where he will serve as an instructor.
The Gilmores resided at 3120 Fourth Avenue place in Morningside for 26 years.

Charley W. Gilmore was born Nov. 9, 1909 to James F. and Belle Lynch Gilmore. He died Jan. 5, 1984 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Council Bluffs, IA.
