Walter Charles Giebelstein was born June 8, 1922 to Fritz Ben “Ben" and Hilda Regennitter Giebelstein. He died Jan. 30, 1945 and is buried in Inland Cemetery, Bennett, IA.
Sgt. Giebelstein served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. K, 358th Infantry, 90th Division, 3rd Army and died of wounds received in action in Stupbach, Germany. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
