Howard Albert Gelhaar was born Nov. 24, 1908 to Edward and Lena Schnoor Gelhaar. He died Dec. 26, 1944 and is buried in Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial, Hamm, Luxembourg.
Pvt. Gelhaar served in world War II with the U.S. Army 317th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 80th Infantry Division. He was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
