Donald George ‘Don’ Gangestad was born Nov. 4, 1924 to George Adolph and Edna Marie ‘Marie’ Larson Gangestad. He died Sept. 30, 2008 and is buried in the City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, AZ.
Petty Officer Gangestad was assigned to the light cruiser, USS Cleveland, in World War II while serving with the U.S. Navy.
Don’s brother, William Nicholas ‘Bill’ Gangestad, was born Jan. 6, 1927. He died Dec. 1, 2007 in MA.
Bill was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Salerno Bay in World War II.
