Robert A. Frederick was born Sept 2, 1926 to Arthur and Emily Frederick in Altoona, IA and attended High School in Bondurant, IA. Luckily, he had enough credits to graduate when he was drafted in the middle of his senior year and his mother was able to accept his High School diploma for him during graduation ceremonies.
Bob entered US Army boot camp Jan 8, 1945. His specialty was Military Police. As Corporal of the Guard with the Hqs and Hqs detachment at Ft. Puger on Oahu, Territory of Hawaii, he was responsible for the posting of guards at proper stations and at the correct time.
While Bob was serving, his father Arthur H. Frederick, was also serving in the US Army in the Philippines.
