Melvin Leslie Fratzke was born Feb. 6, 1925 to Albert Frederick and Margaret Ida O’Brian Fratzke. He died Dec. 25, 1944 and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, IA.
Pvt. Fratzke served with the U.S. Army 264th Infantry, 66th Infantry Division in World War II and was KIA aboard a troop ship crossing the English Channel to the European Theater of Operations.
