WWII Bonus Case Files 1947-1954
Gerrit Henry Franken, was born on Dec. 21, 1922, at Sioux Center, Iowa, where he was residing prior to entering the U. S. Navy on April 9, 1945, at Minneapolis, Minn.
He trained at the Naval Training Station at Great Lakes, Illinois, departed for foreign service on August 15, 1945, served on the USS Sierra AD 18 and the USS Gurke DD 783, and returned on March 27, 1946.
He was honorably discharged on August 19, 1946. His application for bonus pay was filed on May 20, 1949, for which he received $190.00.
