Pvt. Floyd K. Foss

 

The four sons of Mrs. Cora Foss, 1635 1/2 Ripley street, are serving overseas in both European and Asiatic theaters, while a daughter, Mary Jane Foss of the WAVES, was recently promoted to the rating of yeoman, second class, at the naval air station at Norman, Okla.

Miss Foss, who was formerly employed in the office of the Rock Island arsenal entered the WAVES in December, 1943 and received her training at Hunter college.

Tech Sgt. John R. Foss and Pvt. Floyd K. Foss, who have been overseas seven months and a year respectively, met in Paris and were able to spend a weekend together, while both were stationed near there in August, 1944. Tech. Sgt. Foss is now stationed in Holland while Floyd is attached to ageneral hospital in Paris.

Pvt. Richard A Foss, now serving with the quartermaster corps in the India-China area has been overseas for two years, spending most of that time in Iran.

Pvt. William Foss, who began his overseas assigment in June 1944, is now stationed in Italy. He reverenced his training at Camp Roberts, Calif, Camp Van Dorn, Miss., Camp Carson, Colo., and Camp Leggitt, Calif.

Floyd Kenneth Foss was born Jan. 21, 1924 to Ward Prescott and Cora May Richardson Foss. He died May 19, 1999 and is buried in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA.
