“Visit” Becomes Honeymoon
Sioux City Pair Take Part in 4-Couple Wedding
A “visit” became a honeymoon and two Sioux Cityans, principles in a quadruple wedding ceremony in Phoenix, Ariz., when Miss Margaret Anne Jacobson and Aviation Cadet Robert E. Forsling were married Sunday.
Central High School sweet-hearts, the couple joined three other cadets from Thunderbird field and the cadets “home town” girls for the multiple service, telegraphing the news afterward to relatives here.
The bride, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Jacobson, 3119 McDonald Street, had gone to Phoenix for a holiday visit with her fiancé. Word that she had been married came to her parents Monday morning.
Both young people were active and popular at Central High School. Cadet Forsling, a graduate there in June, 1939, played basketball and was a member of Civics literary society. His bride was graduated in January, 1941, was a member of Philomathian society and since became affiliated with Delta Sigma sorority. She has been employed at the Tolerton & Warfield Co., to which she telegraphed her resignation this week.
Before his enlistment Cadet Forsling worked for the Sioux City Gas & Electric Company. His preflight training was at Santa Ana, California. He expects a transfer for advance training and hopes to win his wings by April. His bride will remain with him until he is assigned to duty overseas.
The other principals in the four-way marriage ceremony were Frank Farmer and Itha Martin of Odessa, Texas, James W. Barr and Dorothy A. Davis of Rocky River, Ohio and Charles M. Davis and Ida Ward of Kansas City, Kansas.

Presented Medal—The air medal with three bronze oak leaf clusters was presented to Mrs. Robert E. Forsling (above left) at the Sioux City army base by Col. Downs E. Ingram (right) base commander. Lt. Forsling was killed in action in the European theater of operations. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.V. Forsling, 2511 Virginia Street, with whom Mrs. Forsling now resides.

Robert Eben Forsling was born Apr. 3, 1921 to Eben Verner and Hortense Linnea Granere Forsling. He died June 22, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
2nd Lt. Forsling served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 401st Fighter Squadron, 370th Fighter Group and was awarded the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
