Lyle Wayne Evans was born Aug. 28, 1919 to George and Ethel Williams Evans. He died Apr. 6, 1945 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery and has a cenotaph in Elmwood Cemetery, Waterloo, IA.
Pvt. Evans served in World War II with the U.S. Army 291st Infantry Regiment, 75th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
