Virgil W. Elder was born Jan. 10, 1926 to Ralph P. and Gertrude C. Nakken Elder. He died Feb. 20, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France.
Pvt. Elder served in World War II with the U.S. Army 274th Infantry Regiment, 70th Infantry Division and was KIA in France and awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
