Iris Leo ‘Leo' Eide was born July 6, 1916 to Ole K. and Belle Anderson Eide. He died Sept. 27, 2001 and is buried in Rose Grove Cemetery, Williams, IA.
Iris served with the U.S. Army in World War II with Battery B, 328th Field Artillery
Battalion.

Leo Eide, 85, of Brevard, North Carolina, died Thursday, September 27, 2001 at the Ivy Hill Retirement Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Grove Cemetery, south of Williams. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191.
Iris Leo Eide, son of Ole and Belle (Anderson) Eide, was born July 6, 1916 on a farm near Williams. He received his education in rural schools near the family farm between Williams and Radcliffe. During WW II, he served with the U.S. Army in Italy. Following his discharge he returned to farming. On September 7, 1947 he married Margaret Ann (Peggy) Cook at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed near Williams. In 1958 the family moved to Webster City. He worked as a dispatcher for the Webster City Police Department, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Eide died January 19, 1981.
Mr. Eide is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Marie Eide of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, grandchildren (unreadable), several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ray, Udel and Carroll Eide.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #191, VFW and Webster City Moose Lodge.
Memorials may be given to the American Legion.
