Iowa Honor Roll
Like the men pictured here on previous Sundays, these Iowans have given their lives for their country. Each one was either killed in action or died in prison camp. The fourth line under each picture gives the area in which the man last served. The list will be continued in future weeks.

Robert Stephen Edwards was born Apr. 14, 1922 to Vern C. and Viola Blanche Foster Edwards. He died Feb. 7, 1943 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 2, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and in Gowrie Township Cemetery, Gowrie, IA.
Pvt. Edwards served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps South Pacific Marine Photo Squadron and was killed in an airplane crash at sea while faithfully serving his country on a regularly scheduled flight. His body was not recovered. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
