William Bernard Doerning was born Sept. 13, 1913 to John Arnold and Agnes M. Korleski Doerning. He died July 21, 1944 and is buried in Saint Johns Catholic Cemetery, Emmetsburg, IA.
Sgt. Doerning served in World War II with the U.S. Army 125th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron and died of wounds received in action in the invasion of France.
