Forrest James Diesch was born Sept. 2, 1919 to Martin Junior and Ora Gertrude Fowler Diesch. He died Aug. 15, 1944 and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville, IA and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Lt. Diesch served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Force and was listed as MIA when he did not return from his flight mission. It was later determined that he crashed into the sea off Russell Island. No wreckage was found.
