Carl Cornelius Den Hartog was born Dec. 7, 1921 to Egbert and Henrietta Pothoven Den Hartog. He died Apr. 12, 1945 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France.
Cpl. Den Hartog served in World War II with the U.S. Army 397th Infantry Regiment, 100th Infantry Division and died in the service of his country in Heilbrom, Germany and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
