Roy E. Crowder, 517 38th Street, commander, medical corps, is serving aboard the U.S.S. Sumter, which was used to land troops for the occupation of Japan.

Roy Elwin Crowder was born Oct. 14, 1896 Roy Elwin and Jennie Engebretson Crowder. He died Dec. 8, 1968 and is buried in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, CA.
Capt. Crowder served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
