GRANDVIEW—Cpl. Patrick Courtney is a patient at a hospital somewhere in Germany, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oral Courtney, of near Grandview. No particulars were received.

James Patrick “Pat” Courtney was born Dec. 2, 1923 to James O. and Mildred Lewis Courtney. He died Sept. 10, 1996 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Paris, TX.
Sgt. Courtney served in World War II with the U.S. Army.4th Cavalry, 559th Light Tank Battalion in France.
