Kenneth D. Coplen was born Jan. 18, 1913 to Grover C. and Icie May Piper Coplen. He died Apr. 8, 1945 and is buried in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Pvt. Coplen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 381st Infantry, 91st Division and died of wounds received in action on Okinawa. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
