Bluferd Leroy Cooper was born May 15, 1918 to Noah and Bertha Keeling Cooper. He died June 17, 2004 and is buried in the Fairview Cemetery, Dows, IA.
Cpl. Cooper served in World War Ii with the U.S. Army, spending 32 months overseas with the 11th Evac Unit in the European Theater. He was in an invasion force that landed in Dramont, France and was awarded the Bronze Arrowhead for the D-Day invasion of southern France. He was awarded several Bronze Stars, campaign ribbons and five overseas bars.
