Guy Hallett Conger was born May 23, 1922 to Guy Robert and LaVere Hallett Conger. He died June 29, 1944 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City, IA.
Lt. Conger served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps Combat Crew Section, 215th Base Unit, Combat Crew Training School (Heavy). He was killed, along with nine other crew members, when their aircraft which had flown off course, crashed near the Colorado-New Mexico border. Their mission was scheduled to be a round-robin nighttime cross-country navigation-training exercise. The flight departed from Pueblo Army Air Field, Pueblo, CO enroute to Lincoln, NE.
