Jack Coe, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Coe, 1506 Glendale boulevard, is training as an apprentice seaman at Camp Perry, Illinois.

Memorial Rites for Jack W. Coe Here on Sunday
Memorial services for Jack Weldon Coe, seaman first class, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.N. Coe, Wakefield, Nebraska, will be held at 11 o’clock Sunday morning at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Walter A. Voss pastor of the church, will officiate.
Seaman Coe was killed in action while on duty aboard the Liscomb Bay, an escort carrier which was torpedoed and sunk while participating in the battle of the Gilbert Island.

John Weldon “Jack” Coe was born June 4, 1925 to Weldon Neff and Elsie Mae Triggs Coe. He died Nov. 25, 1944 (at sea) and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Petty Officer Coe served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
