HAVE REUNION
According to a letter received by relatives from T/5 Thurber Curran of Williams, he and three other Williams servicemen recently had a reunion in Hawaii. The other three—all former schoolmates of Curran—included Lt. Harold Johnson, Pfc. Donald Cheyne and Petty Officer 2nd Class Gilbert Snyder.

Donald Sinclair Cheyne was born Mar. 13, 1912 to Lawrence John Sinclair and Etta Syrena Nicholson Cheyne. He died Sept. 5, 1985 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery, Williams, Hamilton County, IA.
Pvt. Cheyne served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the 750th Field Artillery Battalion.

Donald S. Cheyne, 73, died at the Hamilton County Hospital Thursday following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Williams United Methodist Church with Rev. David Crow officiating and with burial at a later date at the Williams Cemetery.
There will be no visitation as his body was donated to the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.J.S. Cheyne, and was born March 13, 1912 at Webster City.
He was married April 7, 1932 at Webster City to Nellie Jaynes, and resided at Williams for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; one son, Lawrence of Webster City; one daughter, Mrs. LeRoy (Lorraine) Barnes of Blairsburg; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Storm of Lone Tree, Iowa, and Mrs. Mildred Wulkau of Williams.
He was a Standard Oil agent at Blairsburg until he retired 10 years ago.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in Okinawa.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Williams American Legion Post. He was also a member of the Williams City Council.
The Surls Funeral Chapel of Williams has charge of the services.
