Alvie Eugene Capps was born May 22, 1918 to Daniel Jacob and Alta May Sutton Capps. He died Oct. 17, 1944 and is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Petty Officer Capps served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Montgomery (DD-121). He lost his life as the result of multiple injuries sustained while on operational activities against the enemy.
