Harlan Soldier Killed in Japan
WASHINGTON (AP) – The war department made public Monday the names of nine soldiers killed and 20 injured in a fire which destroyed a medical battalion barracks at Shikoku Japan on Dec. 23.
The dead included:
Pfc. Sheldon E. Campbell of Harlan, IA; father, George H. Campbell.

Sheldon Edward Campbell was born Oct. 17, 1925 to George Henry and Ida K. Luecke Campbell. He died Dec. 23, 1945 and is buried in Harlan Cemetery, Harlan, IA.
Pvt. Campbell served in World War II with the U.S. Army 24th Infantry Division, Medical Battalion and died in Japan while serving his country.
