Myron D. Caltvedt was born Apr. 22, 1922 to Tygo Gunderson and Emma Martha Westre Caltvedt. He died Mar. 2, 1945 and is buried in Warren Township Cemetery, McCallsburg, IA. He is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Sgt. Caltvedt served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 17th Squadron, 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group and was MIA/KIA and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart and Air Medal.
