Donald George Cady was born Aug. 21, 1921 to Jerome L. ‘Joe’ and Sarah Jane Hupp Cady. He died Aug. 4, 1996 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery, Williams, IA.
Sgt. Cady served with the U.S. Army in World War II with Company A, 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Division in Rhineland and Central Europe.

Donald Cady, 74, Williams, died Aug. 4, 1996 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held today at the United Methodist Church in Williams, with Rev. Pacifico Camarin officiating. Burial was at the Williams Cemetery in Williams. Surls Funeral Home in Williams was in charge of arrangements.
Donald Cady, son of Joseph and Sara Hupp Cady, was born Aug. 21, 1921 in Jameson, Neb. He graduated from Viola High School in Audubon. On Jan. 16, 1959, he married Helen Christianson at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Radcliffe. He farmed north of Williams, was employed for five years at Dickinson Hardware in Williams until 1955, and then was self-employed as an electrician and plumber.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and John Cavanaugh, Williams, Kaylene and Price Moberly, Williams; sisters, Della Cady, Williams, Jeanette Cady, Williams, Doris Lumsden, Coon Rapids; brother, James Cady, Coon Rapids; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Roseanna Moore, Ellen Clifford, infant Hattie; brothers, Joe Jr., George, Halley, Boyd, Dale, and an infant brother.
Mr. Cady was a member of the United Methodist Church in Williams and was also a member of the Williams American Legion Post No. 633, president of the Hamilton County Rescue Association, taught EMT courses throughout Iowa, was a fireman for many years, helped start the Williams Rescue Unit, and served in the U.S. Military from 1942 to 1946 as a technician third grade, Company A, 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Division in Rhineland and Central Europe under George Patton.
