Richard Witt Busching was born Mar. 5, 1918 to Louis W. and Alta C. Witt Busching. He died Dec. 21, 1985 and is buried in Elkader Cemetery, Elkader, IA.
Major Busching served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps Fighter Command in England, flying with the first P-38 (Lightning) group to operate in this theater. He was awarded the Air Medal.
